New Bern is blossoming for Spring!
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at 1:38pm. 272 Views, 1 Comments.
So many good things are happening in New Bern this Spring. We just opened our new $41 million Alfred Cunningham Bridge that provides a welcoming entry to Historic downtown New Bern. My office at Coldwell Banker Willis-Smith is located just two blocks from the newly replaced bridge. Along with our new bridge, we have almost completed one of our main thoroughfare streets, Broad Street. Believe it or not, we narrowed the street, put parking along the sides, and will put all the wiring underground and plant trees in the center island. Fifty years ago, Broad Street trees were removed to make the street wider to accommodate large truck traffic that came across the Neuse River by way of the John Lawson Bridge. That bridge was torn down in early 2000…
Al Mack Celebrates Twenty-five Years in the Industry
Thursday, March 25th, 2010 at 3:32pm. 311 Views, 0 Comments.
Coldwell Banker Willis-Smith real estate agent Al Mack celebrates twenty-five years in the business by always focusing on the one unchanging rule of real estate - exceptional customer service.
The game may have stayed the same but the rules have changed greatly over the past twenty-five years. "When I first started, there were no cell phones or faxes and emails to send," mentioned Al Mack. "Now the technology available means transactions can be handled at a faster rate and the realtor is able to meet clients' needs faster. However, what can be lost now is the relationship you build with the client."
Continuing to focus on customer service is the reason why Mack can say that 75% of his business is based on client referrals and repeat business. Mack…

Don't Miss Out on the Federal Home Buyer Tax Credit - The Clock is Ticking!
Monday, March 15th, 2010 at 3:32pm. 305 Views, 0 Comments.
It's never too late to buy a new home. Several factors are converging to make this the perfect time to buy a home. Interest rates are at historic lows. Inventory levels are high which means there are plenty of choices for buyers at good prices. And Uncle Sam is offering a 10% tax credit up to maximum of $8,000, for first time or other eligible buyers who have not owned a home in the three years previous to the purchase. Why pay the mortgage on your landlord's property when you can be accumulating equity in the property yourself?
I just want to share a couple of stories of folks who have recently purchased a home and taken advantage of the tax credit.
I received a call from a young woman in her twenties, who was interested in renting a one-bedromm…
