Spending Time with Family

spending quality time with grandchildren. In New Bern and the surrounding areas there are many places for relaxing with the kids. We have parks, family friendly restaurants like the Cow Cafe where everything is moolicious; beautiful beaches an hour away; the Tryon Palace History Center with an interactive, high tech display that takes children back to the time of the colonies; painted bears representing our town mascot standing guard all over downtown making for a fun scavenger hunt; and places to stop for a hot dog or ice cream.
Other family friendly activities include visits from the esteemed NC Symphony; lots of local theatre; concerts on the lawn at Union Point Park; fabulous street fairs and parades; and opportunities to get close to nature picking fresh blueberries and strawberries when they are in season. With golf, tennis, water sports, and fishing all being available, there is always something to do in New Bern.
