Posted by Florence Brewer on Thursday, July 29th, 2010 at 12:43pm.Looking for some fun things to do in New Bern in August? Well you don't want to miss the Art & Wine Festival sponsored by the New Bern Breakfast Rotary and Craven Arts Council & Gallery. It starts on Thursday, August 26th with a four-course meal prepared by local chefs at some of New Bern's finest restaurants complemented by select wines chosen by local wine experts. There is a Fine Arts and Craft Sale on Friday and Saturday August 27th and 28th featuring an eclectic mix of fine wine and art representing talent from across North Carolina and beyond. Exhibits will be set up to offer a variety of items for direct sale as well as through silent auction. Also on Friday, you can participate in Arts Gone Live! and experience the life of an artist. Various local artists will create works throughout the evening in an informal setting in the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center Ballroom. Guests will have the opportunity to view the creative process and interact with artists. Food stations and a selection of fine wines will help fire up the creative palate. And to cap things off, on Sunday, August 28th there will be a Wine Tasting - over 100 fine wines will be offered to sample and purchase from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets to these events, please visit New Bern Art and Wine Festival or contact the Craven Arts Council & Gallery at 252.638.2577.
