Selling Your Home During the Holidays
Posted by John Turnage on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 at 5:10pm.Here are a few good reasons why you should have your home on the market during the holidays:
Homes show better during the holidays
Your home looks great when decorated for the holidays - tree's up, lights twinkling, maybe a fire in the fireplace and don't forget those great holiday aromas.
Holiday buyers are serious buyers
Potential buyers are busy too during the holidays, but the ones that are taking the time to look are probably very motivated.
Home Buyer Tax Credit
The Home Buyer Tax Credit has been extended and expanded. Read more about the Tax Credit here.
You have complete control over showing times
If you are having company or family gatherings, let your agent know the days and times your house cannot be shown.
It's cold up North!
During the winter months, many people tire of the cold and snowy weather and look to move south. Our area enjoys a four season climate, and the winters are mild.
Many visitors in town
Family and friends visiting during the holidays may find our area just the place to relocate or retire. Or they just may want to move closer to family.
And...your home won't sell if it's not on the market!
