Mark Chacon is a native Californian and was raised in the Chacon family real estate business.  Mark lived in the Bay Area, where his father was a successful REALTOR®, until his parents moved to New Mexico.  While living in Santa Fe New Mexico, both his mother and father became real estate brokers.   By assisting his parents with various real estate tasks, Mark began to accumulate knowledge, experience and familiarity with the art of serving real estate buyers and sellers.  These many years of exposure to the real estate community continue to aid Mark as he serves his clients.

Mark started his Bachelor of Science in Marketing at New Mexico State University and had the opportunity to intern with Hewlett Packard in San Jose CA.  HP offered Mark a full-time position and a full ride scholarship so he moved back to Northern CA where he earned his degree in Marketing from San Jose State University.  HP learned that Mark has a photographic memory and was often referred to as the “walking map”.  Because of his detailed knowledge of historical landmarks and points of interest in the Bay Area, Mark was called upon by the leadership at HP to tour HP VIPs and visitors.  Mark received HP’s Diplomacy Award for his services, which he gladly performed as a collateral duty.
In 2001, Mark decided to give up his HP job to pursue a career in the real estate industry in Ventura.  Before becoming a realtor in 2004, Mark decided to first learn about the art of document preparation and processing of mortgage loans. 

In early 2005, Mark joined California Realty and Ventura County Coastal Association of REALTORS® (VCCAR).  With his background in real estate, marketing and business management it has made him a resourceful REALTOR®, real estate office manager and VCCAR Member.   Mark has served on the MLS Committee, was Chairman of the Local Government Relations Committee, Chairman of Budget and Finance/Strategic Planning Committee, Treasurer for VCCAR and in 2016 was President for VCCAR.  Mark is also a member of VCCAR’s Travel Team and serves as a State Director of the California Association of REALTORS®.   He has represented VCCAR at the National Association of REALTORS® annual conferences in Washington D.C., Chicago, IL and San Diego, CA.   He has also represents VCCAR by being State Political Coordinator, meeting with local and state politicians and senators to advocate for private property rights and legal matters that could change the real estate industry.

Mark is a committed, knowledgeable and trustworthy realtor that always keeps his client’s best interest in mind.  Mark was a featured REALTOR®, representing his client on HGTV’s House Hunters “Venturing out in Ventura” episode.  His past and current clients have all praised Mark for his ability to educate them during the transaction. With so many different situations, obstacles and opportunities in the housing market today, Mark always has options to present to his clients and they are able to make educated decisions regarding their home.  Mark strives to continuously learn and stay informed on trends in the market place.  He believes that when you are an informed buyer or seller, you’ll make the best decisions for the most important purchase or sale in your lifetime. 

Mark loves to visit National Parks, historical landmarks and points of interest.  As a hobby, Mark searches for luxury cruise deals; he loves to snow ski, cook, wine tast and everything about cars and houses.   He continues to serve as a tour guide and will assist anyone who calls him for directions.
