I am celebrating my 25th anniversary as a member of the Tucson Association of Realtors licensed in the state of Arizona. As a Residential Specialist with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage I serve the Tucson area specializing in the luxury and second/resort home market in the Catalina Foothills.
I am particularly proud of my choice of partnership with Coldwell Banker because it has been designated year after year as a "World's Most Ethical Company" by Ethisphere Institute. I believe this is the most important quality an agent can bring to their clients, and what I strive to offer to everyone of my buyers and sellers. I realize that today anyone can find a house through the Internet. What is most important is trusting that the person representing you puts your needs and interests first in all situations during the process of the sale or purchase of your home.
Education and Training
In Arizona a Realtor must complete at least 24 hours of education every two years which is a higher bar than in many other states. In my career I know my clients have profited by these 288 hours of further education. In addition, Coldwell Banker has an advanced training department with excellent topical classes which we take advantage of, resulting in the best informed agents in the state.
That said, nothing substitutes for experience! I have been involved in the sales of homes from a $17,000 Single-wide trailer, to a $45,000 Townhouse, a $415,000 Patio Home, a $630,000 Single Family Residence, to a $1,800,000 Estate. I have always tried to give each of my clients, no matter the price range, the exact same consideration and care with the highest standards of knowledge and professionalism.
Awards And Designations
Through the years I have often been one of the top agents in my office, receiving numerous awards such as the Bronze Circle Award, the International Sterling Society, and the International Diamond Society. The highlight was the year I was recognized as one of the TOP TEN AGENTS in all of Southern Arizona's Coldwell Banker Offices with the recognition of the International President's Circle.
Areas of Expertise
Whether you are a buyer or a seller, one qualification that you should always look for in your representative is that she be good at the art of negotiation. In real estate it is important to be a good negotiator in every phase of the process, including but not limited to, arriving at the best agreed upon price for the client. All parties should feel they are being treated fairly, resulting in the client being peaceful during a time that could be otherwise. This is a skill that I have acquired in my position as manager of a large merchandise department in a major retail corporation, through the experience of running a state opera company, and by participating on the Board of Directors of a number of non-profit community organizations where it is imperative that consensus is found for the common good.
I am experienced in educating and guiding the first time home buyer, and in smoothing the transition of the senior homeowner who is considering a move into Assisted Living. I know how to listen carefully to my buyers as they describe their needs and desires so that I can find the ideal home for them. I have actually sold more than one home “sight unseen” to delighted clients.
I have always believed in giving back to my community in whatever way I could. I have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Downtown Rotary Club, the Assistance League, the Opera Guild of Southern Arizona; and been appointed by the Mayor to the Tucson-Pima Arts Council. I am a member of the University of Arizona's Fred Fox School of Music Music Advisory Board, and a Chairperson on our local Home Owner's Association.
Getting to Know Me
I am from Grand Rapids Michigan. I graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin, attended the University of Paris-Sorbonne, and the Juilliard School of Music in New York City. My first job was as a Public school teacher. I was in retail management in New York, and a librarian in San Francisco before moving to Tucson as Development Director and subsequent Manager of the Arizona Opera Company.
My husband, Richard is a seventh generation Tucsonan, a descendent of several of the pioneer families. He was a football player at Amphi High School and is an Alumnus of the University of Arizona. After three years in the U.S. Marine Corp, he did an about turn and was hired to sing leading baritone roles with the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York City before retiring to his home town. I have been lucky to have had the opportunity to travel with him to his performances throughout the U. S. and in Europe, England, Mexico, Canada, Israel, and Japan.
Communities I Serve
Having lived in the Foothills since the early 1980’s, and practicing Real Estate for twenty five years, I “know the territory”. Although I have sold homes from the Southern part of the metropolitan area in Green Valley, to the town of Catalina in the North, to Oro Valley and Marana in the Northwest/West, and to the East as far as the road is paved, my specialty is the Catalina Foothills. I have sold homes in Skyline Country Club, Oro Valley Country Club, and La Paloma Country Club, however most of my clients live in homes built on an acre or so in the price range of $400,000- $700,000 in non-gated areas in the Foothills, or in communities like Fairfield which consist of Town homes, Patio homes and Single family homes.
