As the managing broker of the Sacramento Fair Oaks Office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Clay offers an innovative and progressive approach to providing value to dedicated REALTORS®. His ability to read real estate market trends, combined with an extensive knowledge of real estate practices, offers REALTORS® a strong competitive advantage in today’s challenging real estate environment. With more than 38 years of personal involvement in the industry, Clay ensures that REALTORS® are kept informed, and offeres the best educational programs and technology, and supported by a full-time transaction coordinator and marketing staff.
As a former top-producing REALTOR® and non-competing managing broker, Clay specializes in offering assistance that can help enhance top producers' productivity. By offering weekly Realtor Empowerment Workshops in the Fair Oaks Office, one-on-one relationships and in-office experience, the Fair Oaks Office strives to offer help to enhance the REALTOR® who wants to go to the next level, as well as offering help to make a new REALTOR® to get up and running quickly.

Areas of Expertise
Clay is a past president of the Sacramento Association of REALTORS® (SAR) and was Sacramento’s “REALTOR® of the Year.” Clay is a published real estate author and has instructed for the SAR’s ‘Real Estate Training Institute’ series for many years. He has chaired dozens of formal disciplinary and arbitration tribunals and continues to serve as an expert witness and consultant in real estate standard of practice litigation. Clay has earned three national designations- CRB® (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), CRS® (Certified Residential Specialist) and ePRO (Internet Commerce Professional). He has qualified as a life member and past president of the Sacramento Association of REALTORS® Masters Club.
Clay has been a California Association of REALTORS® (CAR) State Director since 1986 and has served on the CAR Executive Committee. He is currently Chairman of the CAR Transaction & Regulatory Committee and has been the Chairman of the CAR Federal Issues Committee, CAR Legal Action Fund Trustees, CAR Professional Standards Committee, CAR Legal Affairs Forum, CAR Transaction Issues (Transaction & Regulatory Committee), and CAR Region 3. He has been Vice Chair of the CAR Strategic Planning & Financing Committee and a member of CAR task forces for Distressed Property, Ethics & Professionalism, and Procuring Cause. Clay is the National Association of Realtors Federal District 4 Political Coordinator for Congressman Tom McClintock. An appointed CAR Interboard Arbitrator, Clay also is a member of CAR's Gold President Circle and a holder of the California “Golden R."
Education and Charitable Involvement
Clay is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and is a UC Davis Baseball Hall of Fame centerfielder. He holds the designation of Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest honor that Toastmasters International bestows. Clay has been active in charitable efforts to support groups such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Sacramento Children’s Home, Sacramento Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Sacramento Christmas CanTree. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Positive Coaching Alliance Sacramento.
Clay and his wife Sandra, who is the Sacramento Valley Division Manager of North American Title Company, live in Granite Bay, California. They are proud of their three children- Nicole, Julia and Anthony- and a new grandson. Clay is a native Californian born in Los Angeles.
