Brookline endures as a unique and historic town neighboring Boston. As one of the first settlements in New England, this area was first known as the Hamlet of Muddy River until it was officially incorporated in 1705 as the town of Brookline. Throughout its long history, Brookline has resisted being assimilated into Boston. From the affluent and high end areas like the Estate area near the reservoir to the neighborly and sociable Coolidge Corner, Brookline accommodates a variety of people and distinctive neighborhoods. The housing varies as much as the neighborhoods from condos to mansions and classic brownstones to stately Victorians.

Brookline boasts a lengthy history including being the birthplace of JFK. The town houses The Country Club, the premiere private club in the United States which has hosted the U.S. Open three times, as well as Olmsted Park and Larz Anderson Park. Read More

The Puppet Showcase Theatre endures as one of the four oldest puppet theatres, entertaining children since 1974.
Due to both of Boston’s Post Roads running through the town, Brookline historically has had an array of transportation options and served as one of the first street car suburbs. Two of the light rail lines, the Green Line’s “C” and “D” routes, connect Brookline inbound to Boston and outbound to neighboring Newton. Route 9 and Route 16 provide easy access to Interstate 95, 93, and the Mass Pike.  Brookline neighbors both Newton and six different Boston neighborhoods including Jamaica Plain, Allston, and Brighton making commuting a breeze.
