Chelsea MA Real EstateThe city of Chelsea MA is located just north of Boston, separated only by the Mystic River. Geographically, it is the smallest city in Massachusetts at just under 2.5 square miles. Chelsea was once part of the town of Saugus, but the two were separated in the mid 1800’s. The small diverse city has a much storied history that has been impacted by many internal and external factors over the years, and has found ways to reinvent itself as times change.
Chelsea consists of many unique neighborhoods including Admirals Hill, Chelsea Square, the Central Park Area, and Mill Hill to name a few. Large employers in the town include MIT, Market Basket, and Mass General Hospital. One of Chelsea’s best known employers is the Chelsea Clock Company, which was founded in 1897.
