One of the first settlements in Massachusetts, Hingham was originally christened Bare Cove. A scenic seaside town, Hingham is located along the South Shore in Plymouth County. Being a coastal town, residents have access to the Town of Hingham Bathing Beach. The town also houses the Bare Cove Fire Museum, which features firefighting equipment and information as it developed in rural New England. Real estate featured in Hingham is mainly single-family homes and condos. Hingham’s World’s End, an affluent neighborhood located along the coast, features a variety of waterfront properties.
Hingham residents have many options commuting including a ferry service that connects the coastal town to Boston, the MBTA commuter rail’s Greenbrush line, and MBTA bus services. Routes 3, 3A, and 228 all pass through Hingham and provide a quick connection to I-93 and I-95.
