Wayland, an affluent bedroom community, rests midway between Worcester and Boston. Quiet and picturesque, this small town attracts a variety of families that work in the surrounding communities. The Sudbury River runs through the Western half of the town and there have been large preservation efforts to maintain the surrounding forests, marshlands, and fields. The village of Cochituate, Algonquin for swift river, sits in the south of Wayland and houses a variety of single family homes as well as Cochituate State Park, Lake Cochituate, and Dudley Pond.
This charmingly scenic community entertains citizens with a summer concert series throughout the warmer months and Russell’s Garden Center hosts a farmer’s market for local businesses throughout the year. Conveniently located in the eastern part of the state, Route 20 cuts through the center of town while Interstate 90 runs through parts of Cochituate in the South.
