When a prolific artist occupies a space, you can feel their energy, their creativity, their unique way of looking at the world and existing in it. And when inimitable textile artist Morris Dorenfeld set out in search of a place from which to create, he found a lush, nearly acre parcel on the St. George Peninsula on a spit connecting the mainland to Rackliff Island. Just as Morrie spent countless hours artfully creating intricate weavings, he also used that same passionate energy to care for his home and the land that surrounded it. He wove the ocean and the rocks together with native plantings; he thought about how the sun would glide over a bed of daylilies just right as it rose over Seal Cove. He marveled at blue skies glinting off a small waterfall that bobbed and weaved over granite stones. Things here are on purpose and the result is magical - gentle, profound, serene and in living color.
