William (Bill) Laney has been successfully servicing home buyers and sellers in Salt Lake Valley for over a decade. His analytical style, strong negotiation skills and stellar real estate expertise have earned him a solid reputation and many happy clients.
Not many agents can offer 35 years of real estate investment experience like Bill can. He has bought and sold all types of properties, including houses, condos and multi-units. He knows all about the ups and downs of the market and is especially aware of the anxiety some buyers and sellers feel because he’s been there himself. Wanting to help others achieve their property goals, he earned his real estate license in 2009 and has since racked up an impressive array of credentials. He graduated from Coldwell Banker’s® challenging training program, Journey to Mastery, and was a finalist for Utah’s 2009 Rookie of the Year. He is now a member of the Platinum Society (Achievement Level), a Certified Negotiation Specialist (CNE) and a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES). All these accomplishments reflect his love of real estate and his determination to provide unmatched service to both first-time and experienced buyers and sellers.
Bill attended the University of Colorado, earning a bachelor’s degree in education. He then went on to complete a master’s degree in education, with an emphasis on economics in training, from the University of Utah. While teaching at Salt Lake Community College, he was fortunate to share an office with a fellow faculty member who was heavily invested in real estate. Their extensive conversations are what first sparked Bill’s interest in this field. He also quickly realized that his economics background would give him a unique advantage. Analyzing present and future market trends is key to determining location, price and profit potential. Bill has been a Salt Lake Valley and Park City resident since 1974. He loves visiting different countries and has even traveled the world four times!
