More about Chi-Raie Cheung
Helping people find and build their dream homes has given me much happiness and satisfaction in my work. I started working full-time in the real estate business in 1983, the same year that my husband founded his construction company. After working with clients who have become my friends for over 21 years, I have helped to buy and sell over 330 homes. My passion for real estate has grown; I have seen my clients not only obtain their "home sweet home" but also make great investments. When my clients repeatedly come back to me for their real estate needs, I know that I have succeeded in providing the best service they need. I am also fluent in many Chinese dialects, which include Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese and Chiuchownese.
I am proud to be part of the professional team at Coldwell Banker, which values trust, integrity and teamwork. Coldwell Banker continues to be the dominant real estate firm in the San Mateo County market. The majority of the agents in this office live in the communities we serve. We understand the unique challenges involved in buying or selling a home in the Bay Area. I previously worked at Cashin Company, which was later acquired by Coldwell Banker, and before that, I was a top-producing real estate agent at Coldwell Banker for 21 years.
I grew up in Taiwan and obtained my college degree from Taiwan Teacher’s College. I was a high school teacher and host for children’s TV and radio programs in Taipei. I eventually met my husband, Joe, at UC Berkeley while I was getting my M.A. in Education and he was getting his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. We moved to New York and started our family there. I continued my education and graduated with an MPH degree from Columbia University and worked in New York for a few years before moving back to the Bay Area in 1979.
I have raised three children in Burlingame and Hillsborough. They attended Franklin Elementary School, West Hillsborough School, and Crocker Middle School. My oldest daughter, Dorothy, had been working in NY for the past few years, and now she is an MBA student at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Laura, my second daughter, is teaching piano and Kindermusik in the East Bay and is using music to foster growth and creativity in children through musical expression. William, after graduating from Crystal Springs Uplands High School, is currently a sophomore Mechanical Engineering major at UC Berkeley. Knowing that my children are doing well has always motivated me to work hard.
