More about KT Eckardt

Business Philosophy

Coldwell Banker is pleased to announce the addition of KT. Eckardt, specializing in residential real estate on the San Francisco Peninsula, with an emphasis in Redwood Shores.

Personal Background

KT. grew up on the Peninsula and knows it well. Prior to returning home, she started her real estate career in Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica. KT. also assisted with locating properties out of state, personally attending her client’s purchases, traveling from Seattle to Arizona. KT. also became a loan agent to learn that gamepoint facet of a transaction. Because of this valuable experience, she has the ability to screen buyers particularly in fluctuating economic times. But KT. doesn't have to tell you. Her successful track record comes with a long and powerful list of client recommendations—which she includes in her Exclusive Marketing Package. To KT., the client remains her most valued asset. To her clients, KT. remains a friend.

Her multi-faceted background also includes owning her own PR Company; being a loan agent for First Capital Financial--one of the largest mortgage lenders in Southern California; working as a life insurance and securities agent; and doing standup and Improv in Los Angeles. She believes more flags do mean more fun, and that a good sense of humor is a requisite of the job.

KT. began her real estate career in Southern California in 1986, selling high-end properties in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, and Santa Monica. She was a top producer for Jon Douglas Company before returning to the Peninsula where she grew up. From multimillion dollar estates in the Palisades Riviera to burned-down properties on Sunset Blvd.—KT.’s Marketing and Public Relations skills helped her clients get top dollar for their properties—and in record time.

KT. has breadth of experience, having been a Mortgage Lender, Real Estate Licensing Instructor, and PR Company President prior to becoming a Realtor. KT. takes great pride in her successful close of escrows and the peace of mind she entrusts in her clients. She believes in giving personal attention to the details of each transaction. As a result, nearly all of her listings have sold at or above asking. Since getting her real estate license in 1986—32 years ago—none of her listings have ever fallen out of escrow.

Prior to Real Estate, KT. was an Investigative Reporter and News Anchor. She won first place for her documentaries from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJX), and the Golden Mike 3 years in a row for anchoring the evening news. Her PR firm, Eckardt & Associates, helped clients win seemingly impossible campaigns, notably a Zoning Variance for Hughes House Hospice in Los Angeles and Liquor License for the Ma Maison Restaurant for Hotel Sofitel at the Bev Center. She also did Standup and Improv in LA, because humor defies gravity. KT.’s on-air TV presence, behind the camera direction, production and PR gave her invaluable skillsets for online video tours, marketing and sales.

KT. rehabilitated and sold her own homes and those of her clients, and has a particular expertise in waterfront properties.

She is also known for her ability to quickly assemble the right team of professionals in any given location for a property’s maximum return of investment.

While in LA, KT. took all the classes for the Broker’s exam, including Appraisal at UCLA, taught by William Boyd, Jr., the most sought-after appraiser in Los Angeles, who valued celebrity homes and things most appraisers could not fathom—like the Getty Museum, Queen Elizabeth-II, oil fields to oil tankers. While the class did not make KT. an appraiser, it gave her a good base of understanding to compare and prepare properties.

KT. also sold loans for First Capital Financial—one of the largest mortgage lenders in Southern California—where she learned the loan’s the deal—and that “As Is” does not necessarily mean “As Is” to the bank. As a lender, KT. learned how to screen buyers, expedite loans with underwriting banks, and provide supporting comparable sales to appraisers.

A former flight attendant, KT. is world-traveled. She owns property in Croatia, and remains a relocation adviser to her clients.

KT. has worked hard to earn the respect of her colleagues and clients. Father Tim of Hughes House Hospice in LA calls KT., “a one-woman army.” Philip Watson, Realtor, of Coldwell Banker, Burlingame, calls KT. a “class act.” Her long and power list of Client Recommendations—including a video testimony of her former seller, Bruce Vogel formerly of 335 Quay Lane—are listed on her website, www.KTEckardtRealtor.com.

To KT., her clients are her most treasured asset. To her clients, KT. remains a friend. Call her to become one of them.

As an agent who's an expert in this local area, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about buying and selling real estate here. It's not the same everywhere, so you need someone you can trust for up-to-date information. I am eager to serve you. Here are some of the things I can do for you:

Find Your Next Home
You need someone who knows this area inside and out! I can work with you to find the right home at the right price for you, including all the neighborhood amenities that matter - not to mention the essential criteria you have for your ideal home

Sell a Home
When it's time to move, you need someone who will advertise your home, show to prospective buyers, negotiate the purchase contract, arrange financing, oversee the inspections, handle all necessary paperwork and supervise the closing. I can take care of everything you need, from start to close.

Consult on Home Selling Tactics
Oftentimes buyers don't visualize living in your home the way you do. I can make your home attractive to its ideal audience - which can help you get top dollar. Things like staging the home, making repairs or minor improvements, or even simply painting the walls can be the difference between a home resting on the market and one that's sold fast.
