More about Helen McCarthy
Helen McCarthy approaches real estate as a listener, a strategist, and a dedicated advocate. As a fifth generation Californian, her roots in the Bay Area run deep. She moved to San Francisco over 25 years after being raised in Los Altos. Her specialized expertise across San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties, allows her to provide clients with an insider’s perspective on one of the most dynamic markets in the world.
Holding a Master’s degree in Client-Centered therapy, she operates on the principle that the client is the ultimate expert on their own life. Her role is to facilitate their vision, ensuring every move is aligned with what the client truly values. This empathetic approach is balanced by a twenty-five-year career in systems engineering and networking, where she designed complex infrastructures for major Silicon Valley firms and international organizations. In both engineering and real estate, Helen follows the rule: "Understand what the customer actually wants and needs."
This technical background makes Helen an invaluable asset during the high-stakes phases of a transaction. Whether she is explaining the nuances of California tax laws like Propositions 13 and 19, navigating the requirements of trust and estate sales, or translating complex financial and legal data, she does so with the clarity of a seasoned consultant. Her diverse experience also includes large-scale property management and a history of community service—from teaching adult literacy in Menlo Park to practicing client-centered therapy with elders in Hayes Valley.
Now part of the premier team at Coldwell Banker, Helen fuses her love for architecture with a sophisticated marketing and construction network to deliver a seamless experience. Whether you are searching for a dream home or preparing to sell a long-held property, Helen McCarthy provides the technical precision, local heart, and individualized care necessary to achieve your goals.
