5110 Little Turkey Creek Rd Colorado Springs, CO 80926

A rare opportunity to own a true Earthship designed/engineered by Michael Reynolds. This 20-acre off-grid mountain property sits at approximately 8,000 feet and is surrounded by mature pines, aspens, spruce, and fir. The land offers a mix of flat and sloped terrain, deep forested privacy, and beautiful views of surrounding mountains and peaks while still being less than 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store. The unfinished Earthship structure, created from original 1994 architectural plans stamped by Michael Reynolds, is built directly into an earth berm in the bedrock. The roof structure is part of the rainwater catchment system and is built using LVL beams, roof decking, and a waterproof membrane. The interior and exterior walls are rammed-earth tire walls with a greenhouse window wall. Inside, the structure remains a blank canvas with a bare earth floor and no interior framing, plumbing, or electrical - ready for a buyer to complete according to their vision (and current county requirements). Water: Three 1,000-gallon below-ground cisterns. The original roof catchment system is no longer permitted under updated Colorado water laws, so buyers will need to plan for water delivery or explore well permitting options. A 1993 percolation test report is available for reference. Electric: None. The property is fully off-grid with no nearby electrical service, making it ideal for solar or other alternative energy systems. Sewer: None. Septic has not been installed. Access is via a private, gated road with a recorded easement and is maintained by a voluntary HOA. A dirt driveway leads to the structure. Other areas of the property are accessible on foot. This property is perfect for buyers seeking a genuine Earthship project, a sustainable-build opportunity, or a private off-grid retreat in the Colorado mountains - complete with original Earthship documentation including engineer stamped drawings, receipts, and photos for a head start on construction.
