More about Gerard Healy

Professional Specialty

I've spent more than 20 years in Sarasota real estate, helping buyers and sellers make informed decisions in a market I know firsthand. My approach is straightforward: listen carefully, understand what matters to you, explain your options clearly and give you honest advice even when the answer isn't necessarily what you hoped to hear. Real estate is about much more than finding the right property or accepting the right offer. It's about understanding the market, the neighborhood, the circumstances surrounding the transaction and the decisions that can have an impact long after closing. My goal is to make those decisions clearer, anticipate challenges, negotiate thoughtfully and give my clients the confidence to move forward.

Personal

Sarasota has been home to me for more than 20 years, and that connection to the community is an important part of how I practice real estate. I originally came to Sarasota from Boston in 2004, drawn by the beaches, the character of the area and the quality of life. Over the years, I've come to know Sarasota not simply as a place where I sell real estate, but as a community where I've built lasting friendships, professional relationships and a life of my own. I've had the opportunity to work with people at many different stages of their lives - first-time buyers, families, people relocating to Sarasota, second-home owners, investors and sellers preparing for their next chapter. Many clients have come back to me years later for another purchase or sale or have referred friends and family. I value those relationships enormously. I also have a longstanding interest in architecture and design, particularly mid-century modern homes. I enjoy the details, character and history that make a property interesting, but I've learned that finding the right home is ultimately about how it fits the life someone wants to live. Today, I work alongside my husband and business partner, Thomas Rummel. We bring different perspectives to the same business. Thomas brings an international perspective, extensive relocation experience and a background in strategic and commercial negotiation. I bring more than two decades of local Sarasota experience, long-standing relationships and an understanding of the communities and neighborhoods that make this area unique. Together, we give our clients both perspectives and one shared commitment to doing the job well.

Experience

More than 20 years in Sarasota has given me a perspective that goes beyond today's market. I've worked through changing markets, evolving neighborhoods and the many different circumstances that bring people to Sarasota. That experience has taught me that there is rarely a single right answer in real estate. For a buyer, the important question may not simply be whether a property is priced correctly. It may be whether the neighborhood fits the way they live, whether the property will work for their plans, what they should know about the building or community, or which issues deserve closer attention before they make a commitment. For a seller, it may be about understanding where the property fits in the current market, how it should be positioned, which improvements are worth considering and how to evaluate an offer beyond simply looking at the purchase price. My job is to help clients see the bigger picture. I've also learned that communication matters just as much as market knowledge. Clients should know what is happening, why it matters and what their options are. I believe in being accessible, paying attention to the details and addressing potential issues before they become problems. Most of all, I value trust. I've built my business through relationships that often continue well beyond a closing, and I consider repeat clients and referrals to be among the best measures of a career in real estate.

Education

Experience provides perspective. Education keeps it relevant. Real estate is constantly evolving. Markets change, regulations evolve and technology continues to reshape the way properties are bought and sold. We believe our clients deserve advisors who never stop learning. That's why we continually invest in professional education, advanced certifications and industry training. While credentials alone don't define great Realtors, they reflect our commitment to delivering informed advice, thoughtful strategy and exceptional service, ensuring the guidance we provide is current, relevant and always focused on helping you achieve the best possible outcome.
