South Florida Agent Sabrina Cohen Creates Better Lives For Individuals Living with Disabilities

Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate agent, Sabrina Cohen, has successfully led a community initiative for a seaside facility for disabled individuals on Miami Beach. Recently, the Miami Beach City mayor and commissioners voted favorably on the Adaptive Fitness Center that will help make the beach more accessible to individuals living with disabilities. The initiative will begin with a projected $5 million fundraising effort to construct a two-story, 10,0000-square-foot facility aimed at providing an all-inclusive recreation and fitness center. The fitness center will be built on a portion of city-owned land at 5301 Collins Avenue.

Cohen created a one-of-a-kind Adaptive Beach Program that provides access to the beach and ocean using a platform of decks/mats over the sand, beach wheelchairs and a team of specialized staff and volunteers to help disabled participants in and out of the water. Since its launch in May of 2016, the Sabrina Cohen Foundation has served over 500 guests.

For her efforts on behalf of individuals living with physical disabilities, Cohen was recently named the Coldwell Banker® “Hero of the Year”. This annual award is presented to an individual, office or company affiliated with Coldwell Banker who strengthens their community through exceptional charitable efforts. Cohen was nominated by her peers and selected from more than 88,000 professionals worldwide.
