More about Valerie Sorensen

Valerie’s Hawaii roots run deep, having come from a third generation Kamaaina family. After her graduation from Maryknoll High School, Valerie moved to Seattle, Washington to attend Seattle University. While there, Valerie co-founded the Women’s Business Fraternity, to which she was later elected President. After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Valerie began an exciting and successful career in retail management, a position that enabled her to travel from San Francisco to New York City, and in 1984, brought her back home to Hawaii.
In 1988, Valerie began her career in Real Estate and in 1991 received her Broker’s license and Realtor designation. In 1996, Valerie received the distinguished CRSdesignation, a nationally recognized symbol of excellence. Nationally, fewer than 2% of all licensees have received this designation. She received the Coldwell Banker Previews Property Specialistdesignation, to date only 5% of more than 90,000 Coldwell Banker Sales Associates have been awarded this designation.
Valerie believes her 21 years in management helped polish her professional skills of working with people. Her philosophy is measured by her success: she has been a Top Salesperson and Top Producer for Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, the largest real estate company in Hawaii and the 5thmost productive in the country. Valerie has received numerous awards including 1998 & 2000 Top Salesperson-units for Coldwell Banker and the distinguished Coldwell Banker International President’s Eliteaward. She was also named Vice President of Coldwell Banker—recognizing her as a leader in the real estate industry as well as the company.
Valerie is as committed to public service as she is to her career. She has served on the Central Regional Group of the Honolulu Board of Realtors as Vice Chairperson. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Angel Network Charities, a non-profit organization helping the homeless and needy become self-sufficient.
She is currently on the Steering Committee for Christians in Real Estate and a member of New Hope Christian Fellowship Church. To provide extra ordinary service to their clients, David Sorensen, her husband of 47+ years, complements the team.
