A real estate professional since 1997, Jan’s motto is “Clients come first!” She works with a service-oriented approach, doing whatever is needed until she far exceeds her clients’ expectations. After earning a degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Jan spent many years in property management. She managed diverse groups of commercial real estate portfolios for large private sector clients. She also gained experience leasing space for the federal government. This experience was beneficial as she served other city and state governmental agency clients.

When she decided to make the transition to brokerage, it seemed natural! She was able to combine her love of working with people with her past real estate experience. Pursuing both residential and commercial, choosing Coldwell Banker was an easy choice. Backed by a strong brand and gaining access to leading-edge resources, she knew she could support her clients well. Bringing together her industry knowledge, marketing expertise and customer service savvy, Jan is able to work with a variety of buyers and sellers to help them meet their real estate goals with residential and commercial properties. Jan also has the advantage of getting expert advice from her husband, Matthew Toye, President and Founder of The Toye Group, a real estate valuation, development, and management company.

Personal Background

Offering Extensive Neighborhood Knowledge

A lifetime resident of Chicagoland and a longtime resident of Kenwood, Jan will help her clients wherever they need to be, but focuses her business in her own neighborhood, as well as Hyde Park and Chatham. Outside of work, Jan spends time with her husband and two teenagers. She is also a member and volunteer at Park Manor Christian Church, a Trustee Emeritus for the Merit School of Music, a member of the INROAD Alumni Association and a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
