Bilingual
Flor is also fluent in Spanish. "As a bilingual speaker I felt I could open a lot of doors for people and I thought, 'There are so many Spanish speakers here, they are underrepresented.'"

She also went into the real estate business with the goal of helping Spanish speakers. "Real estate is intimidating, especially when you're buying your first home," Lumpkins’ said. "I like to make people feel comfortable and explain the documents." "There is a real need," Lumpkins says. She said Spanish speakers seek her out, not only because she speaks their language, but because she understands their culture. The National Association of Realtors reports that only about 15% of real-estate agents report speaking a second language.
