Debby is a long-time volunteer and leader in her community. She previously served as the chair of Journey to Safety, was PTO President of the Angier School, and was on the executive board of the Northwestern University Hillel.

Debby graduated from Northwestern University, where she also received a master's degree. She and her husband, Erik, have three grown-up daughters and live in Waban with their labradoodle, Arrow.
