Mara Vasvatekis brings to real estate a dynamic blend of discipline, focus, and strategic insight—qualities she honed during her years competing as a professional WTA tennis player and coach. A native of California, Mara’s journey began at the renowned Bollettieri Academy (now IMG) in Florida, where she trained among some of the top junior players in the world. Recruited by Purdue University as one of the nation’s Top-50 collegiate prospects, she excelled both athletically and academically—earning All Big Ten Academic Honors three times and helping lead Purdue to its first-ever Big Ten Championship.
Following college, Mara competed professionally on the WTA Tour, capturing multiple doubles titles and achieving world rankings of #471 in doubles and #724 in singles. Her tennis career instilled an exceptional work ethic, resilience under pressure, and a global network of trusted partners and clients that continue to shape her professional approach today.
Mara’s path ultimately led her to Nantucket—and specifically to the Village of ’Sconset—in the summer of 2016, when she joined the historic Siasconset Casino as a tennis professional. Captivated by the island’s charm and close-knit community, she soon transitioned into a year-round leadership role as Assistant General Manager of the Casino, a position she continues to hold with pride.
Today, as an advisor with Coldwell Banker Realty, Mara combines her competitive drive and thoughtful precision to guide clients through every stage of the real estate process. Her approach is grounded in preparation, anticipation, and an unwavering commitment to results.
When she’s not advising clients or managing the courts, Mara enjoys travel, staying active, and embracing all that Nantucket and ’Sconset have to offer year-round. Alongside her husband, George Vasvatekis, she brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to every relationship—combining local expertise with global reach through the Coldwell Banker network. George and Mara make their home in Siasconset and enjoy an active lifestyle centered around family, travel, and the communities they serve.
