From the moment that you step onto the front porch of the custom-built Swedish Cope log cabin, you will feel as though you've been transported to an old Maine lodge. Built with 24 & 36'' hand-hewn Northern White Pine logs, the beautiful home on 5+ acres has a new 26' x 26' garage, meticulous landscaping, gardens, and a mixed wood of cedar, spruce, and white birch. Surrounded by land in conservation as well as the Scammon Ridge, Big Moose, and Burnt Jacket mountains to the west, Lily Bay and Prong Mountains to the north, and Elephant and Blue Ridge mountains to the east, this private enclave is everything that you would expect of a home in the Moosehead Lake region. The trail through the woods that leads to the dock beckons you to sit and relax. Prong Pond is 400 acres, 11 miles of shoreline, and 2 miles wide. It is the perfect body of water for a quiet kayak ride to explore all of the coves. It's not uncommon to sit on the dock and not see another soul (except for the ducks and loons). Enjoy your morning coffee on the private bedroom balcony overlooking the beautiful yard and gardens, while watching the deer roam the yard. The property is a bird lover's delight with hummingbirds, jays, chickadees, finches, redpolls, nuthatches, woodpeckers, and juncos.
