More about Maureen Trost
In 2015, I packed up my family and moved from Ohio to the Lake Minnetonka area, and I felt every bit of the uncertainty that comes with a big move. That experience is the foundation of how I work. I don’t just know this market; I know what it means to trust someone with one of the most significant transitions of your life.
My husband Jason and I have three boys and two rescue dogs. Jason is an energy trader and the most amazing Dad and dog Dad! My son Jacob is studying business at the Carlson School of Management and is interning this year at Bridgewater Bank. Owen is a senior at Westonka, captain of the lacrosse and cross-country teams, member of future medical professionals, math league, and Deca. Bobby will be a junior playing hockey and lacrosse and participating in Deca as well. This summer, both Owen and Bobby are lifeguarding just like Jacob and I did. Turns out rescue runs in the family! Bobby lives with Type 1 diabetes, and it’s made our family pretty good at taking things one day at a time. Our two rescue dogs, Scout and Simba, bring so much joy to our family. I couldn’t imagine our life without them.
Before real estate, I was a middle school English teacher. I love working with Westonka’s business and DECA program to help students. I helped pass the Westonka school levy and I am passionate about giving back to the community. I believe deeply that people are happier when they feel rooted somewhere with real purpose, a sense of community, and volunteer their time.
I am a listing specialist and a certified luxury home stager. Staging and preparation are central to how I list. It’s truly a family affair! My husband Jason, helps stage every listing, and many of my clients have gotten to know him through the process. Prior to luxury photography and video, I come into your home and work with what you already have, editing, arranging, and making it feel like the best version of itself. My sellers also get time with a decluttering specialist before I come in to accessory stage. It’s one of the most tangible ways I take the stress off your plate. Luxury video and photos showcase your home with strategic marketing that brings in the best price for your home with the least amount of stress.
Real estate is about connection. My job is to advocate fiercely for your sale, make the process feel smooth from start to close, and make sure you feel like you have the right person in your corner.
The Rescue Effect
I’ve been in rescue since I was a little girl. My mom volunteered at our local animal shelter and made sure we always had rescue dogs. My dad was a personal injury lawyer, spending his career advocating for people. I grew up watching both of them show up for others. That commitment to rescue and to showing up for people has never left my business. For years, a donation from every closed transaction has gone to various dog rescues. I truly believe in a perfect world, every dog would have a home and every home would have a dog.
With Coldwell Banker’s Homes for Dogs program, I’m expanding that into something bigger: a ripple of kindness that keeps spreading beyond any single transaction or any single rescue.
With every closing, my clients get a choice. Whether that’s No Dog Left Behind, the rescue I personally volunteer with, a shelter you’ve always supported, or a dog you’ve already fallen in love with at a local rescue, we will make it part of your closing story. Clients can even be a part of bringing awareness to dogs that are up for adoption in the marketing process. The Rescue Effect isn’t about one organization. It’s about making sure that every time someone finds their home, another dog gets the chance to find theirs too.
