136 Waverly Pl #14E New York City, NY 10014

A Coveted High-Floor One-Bedroom at The Waverly with Panoramic Downtown Views High above one of Manhattan's most storied addresses, Apartment 14E at The Waverly offers something increasingly rare: a true sense of place. From the 14th floor of this 1928 Art Deco landmark - one block from Washington Square Park - the views sweep south to One World Trade Center and west across the Village rooftops toward the Hudson River. Every room in this beautifully appointed one-bedroom, one-bath home captures a piece of that panorama. A proper entry foyer sets the tone from the moment you arrive - a gracious touch that feels increasingly rare in Manhattan. The living room beyond is a study in prewar proportion - beamed ceilings, rich hardwood floors, and generous windows framing an unobstructed downtown skyline. A corner built-in banquette invites you to settle in and take it all in. The renovated kitchen is in excellent condition, featuring custom cabinetry with a pullout pantry, Carrara marble backsplash, black granite countertops, polished nickel fixtures, and a classic black-and-white hex tile floor. Top-of-the-line appliances include a Miele range, Bosch dishwasher, and Liebherr refrigerator. A breakfast bar for two at the end makes for effortless morning coffee or easy evening entertaining. The oversized corner bedroom accommodates a king bed with ease and is wrapped on two sides by windows with open sky and rooftop views stretching west across the Village. Two generously sized closets and a wall of built-in cabinetry beneath the sills offer exceptional storage by any standard. The windowed bathroom is beautifully appointed with marble subway tile, basketweave marble floors, a soaking tub, and polished nickel hardware with a pedestal sink - classic and refined. Designed by Walter S. Schneider and completed in 1928, The Waverly is one of Greenwich Village's most distinguished landmarked cooperatives - a storied 16-story Art Deco tower whose ornate terra cotta facade, intricate brickwork, and grand two-story entrance have made it a neighborhood landmark for nearly a century. The building is impeccably serviced with a 24-hour doorman, attended freight elevator, live-in superintendent, central laundry, bike storage, and private storage. One block from Washington Square Park and directly across from the West 4th Street station (A/C/E/B/D/F/M) - with the Christopher Street 1 train less than two blocks away - the address places you at the center of the Village's finest restaurants, galleries, and cultural life. Pets welcome. 14E is not just an apartment - it's a front-row seat to the city, in a neighborhood that never goes out of style.
