The personal residence of an AD-100 interior designer, 21 East 10th Street, Residence 7D is a meticulously restored two-bedroom, two-bathroom home enjoying a premium location on the northwest corner of 10th Street and University Place. Overlooking one of the most lovely pre-war corridors downtown, the home enjoys eastern views over treetops and lush rooftop gardens. Enter the home through a spacious foyer, with room enough for the storage of a bicycle, scooter or pram. From here, a charmed arched doorway offers a peek into the open living and dining room, where two large windows and original french doors opening to a sturdy, Wrought iron Juliet balcony are visible. The centerpiece of the living space is a functional wood-burning fireplace, finished in square brick and covered in plaster German slurry. Two hollowed-out arches flank the fireplace and echo the cylindrical arched doorways throughout the the home; they currently serve as a warm backdrop for paintings.
