More about Michael Waltenbaugh

Business Philosophy:

My Business Philosophy is pretty simple, be honest and respectful to everyone and treat everyone how I would want to be treated. I do not care if you are looking for a $30,000 home or a $1,000,000 home, it is one of the biggest decisions of your life and that can not be taken lightly. I also feel it is my responsibility to be available to my clients when they need me so I make every effort to answer all forms of communication in a timely manner (within 5 mins if possible). They are trusting me to assist them in making one of the biggest decisions in their lives, so I make it a point to be there for them as much as possible, day and night.

Education and Training:

I attended high school at Highlands, after high school I joined the Marine Corp Reserves. After boot camp and MP training I continued my education at CCAC and then transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. While in college I focused my education on Criminal Justice. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in 2005. I worked 7 years as a police officer but I have always been interested in Real Estate so I finally decided to take a chance in the world of Real Estate and signed up for classes to get my license in 2014. I passed the classes and the licensing exam and received my license in June 2014.

Awards And Designations:

Top producing new agent my first year with 2.2 million in sales. Multi Million Dollar producer every year since getting licensed. Pennsylvania Association of Realtors Member (PAR).

Areas of Expertise:

First Time Buyers, Relocation, Investment Properties, and New Construction. My favorites are first time buyers and relocation's into the city. I love working with new buyers because they are so excited to be taking the next step in their lives. There is so much to show them through the process and they always want to learn. At the end of the process the look on their faces when they get the keys to their 1st home is priceless. I also love working with people new to the city because I get to shoe them what the city has to offer. many people do not realize how much there is to do in our "small city". Showing them around the city and picking out the right neighborhoods for them based on their activities and work is always fun to do.

Personal Background:

To me family is the number one thing and always my top priority! After graduating high school I joined the Marines. After completing boot camp and Military Police training I came home and enrolled in college. I started at CCAC for 1 semester and then transferred to IUP. While in college I was deployed to Iraq (twice), so it took me a little longer to graduate than I had intended. After graduation I got a job as a police officer for the City of Pittsburgh in 2007. I married my wife in 2011 and when we decided to start a family we did not want to live in the city (which was required of city police officers at the time), so I resigned and we moved to the North Hills. I love the city of Pittsburgh but the North Hills is a great place to live. Its easy to get in and out of the city, there are great school districts and we are close to both of our families. My wife and I had our first baby, a girl in 2013 and our 2nd, a boy in 2017. Now if I am not working I spend my time with them and my wife.

If I do get any free time I enjoy hiking, biking, fishing and hunting. We also love taking the kids to North Park and Moraine Park as well as visiting the multiple city destinations that are great for kids and adults alike, such as the zoo, museums, aviary or just walking the river walk.
