All about Kate

I was born and raised in Lancaster and recently celebrated 28 years as a real estate professional. Can't believe I've been doing this for 28 years. Makes you wonder where all the years have gone!

My family and I moved to Richmond, Virginia in the 80's and lived there for three years. Upon moving back to Lancaster in 1985, I started my real estate career working as an assistant. After about a year, I realized I could do what my associate was doing...help individuals find the home of their dreams. And, I've been doing it every since! I was the exclusive marketing agent for the homesites at Bent Creek Country Club and have worked in projects such as the Meadows of Highland, Watson Run and most recently The Lancaster Press Building. I think the most rewarding aspect of my career has been the amazing people I've met over the years and helping them find the home of their dreams.

My husband and I recently "downsized" from a large home in Hempfield to a smaller townhouse in Lancaster, and then again to an even smaller, one story in Mt.Joy. It took a bit of "cleaning out" to make the move but it has provided a more manageable home and we started a new chapter in our lives. This is something I'm passionate about, helping clients in the same stage as we were in and everybody gets to eventually. Downsizing can be an overwhelming thing to think about but with the right person guiding the process, it can be rewarding in the end.

And yes, I love what I do!

A Bit More About Me

I love spending time with my family and five grandchildren. We have great times together cooking family dinners, visiting Central Market in Lancaster, the Italian Market in Philadelphia, and Murrells Inlet, SC where we have a small beach house. I enjoy a good book and a glass of wine! On any given Friday morning, you'll find me downtown at one of my favorite places. My husband and I enjoy eating out at many of the locally owned restaurants in Lancaster.

Community Involvement

I chaired for four years and have since been involved in planning the spring gala that benefits the women's shelter in Lancaster. All proceeds from the event stay here in Lancaster. I've also helped with the gala for St. Joseph's Health Ministries. The funds raised benefit the "Brush, Brush Bus" which visits local schools and provides dental care for children. I've also worked with Habitat for Humanity Builders Blitz, a week long event to to complete four homes in the Lancaster Area.
In 2004 I received the Building Industry Association Associate of the Year award. I also served as Board Chair for two terms for the Building Industry Association Foundation. We raise scholarship funds for students pursuing a career in the building industry as well as provide grants for organizations in the community such as Habitat for Humanity, student build projects, etc.
