Personal Background

Doug Martin came to South Carolina in 1969. What he discovered was a wonderful southern way of life. He had just completed three years in the U.S. Army which had followed college graduation in Virginia.
The words he saw on a bumper sticker that were later to become the South Carolina state license plate slogan "Smiling Faces and Beautiful Places" well described this new home with the charming southern life style.
He had a challenging career as a manager for the DuPont Company, while also serving the community in voluntary leadership positions in Rotary Club, Sertoma Club, United Way, Hospital Boards, Church Leadership and a Homeowners Association.
Doug says, "You learn a lot when managing people in the workplace and also serving the community as a volunteer. When you throw in the experience you have gained by growing with my wife and three children, you have acquired lots of the skills you need to help families find the right home".
To assure clients of his excellence in Real Estate Professionalism, Doug has enthusiastically completed the educational requirements for a ""Luxury Home Specialist", a "Seniors Real Estate Specialist" and a "Certified New Home Sales Professional".
That's why Doug, as a Real Estate Professional, has the knowledge, insight and experience to smoothly guide his clients through the home buying and selling process.
