Dusty has over 40 years of experience working in real estate-industrial, commercial, and residential. Working alongside his daughter, Paula Greenfield, Dusty analyzes every detail of the buying and selling process so his clients can enjoy smart real estate decisions for life.

After four decades working in nearly every aspect of real estate, the breadth of Dusty Rhodes’ experience is truly unparalleled. Now, Dusty applies his wide-ranging, specialized knowledge to the benefit of hundreds of homebuyers and sellers in the Austin area. Partnering since 2009 with his daughter Paula Greenfield, a multi-year member of the Platinum Top 50 Realtors® in Austin, Dusty has sold tens of millions of dollars of Austin real estate.

With his training in construction and engineering, he pays meticulous attention to detail and under his careful watch, no aspect of the buying and selling process goes overlooked. Yet as a seasoned entrepreneur and property developer, Dusty excels at looking at the big picture and provides an all-encompassing financial analysis to help his clients make wise financial real estate decisions. Growing up near Stuttgart, Arkansas, the Duck Hunting Capital of the World, Dusty developed his love for fishing and hunting at an early age. His father, and iron worker, introduced him to the construction trade which led to his interest in engineering. Dusty earned his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas. He quickly began his career as a project manager and mechanical contractor, building multi-million dollar municipal, industrial, and commercial sites such as paper mills, chemical plants, shopping malls, airports, and universities.

While helping to raise their three children, Dusty’s wife was a successful full-time Realtor®. Soon, Dusty became interested in real estate from an investment standpoint. He bought and sold many single-family residences and developed a wide variety of commercial and office properties, including a convenience store/restaurant complex and mobile home park, which he personally operated as second business. “What sets me apart from other Realtors® is the depth and breadth of my experience,” Dusty says. “I’ve been an entrepreneur and developed my own projects, as well as worked for Fortune 500 companies, engineers, development groups, and architects.”

After his long and successful career, Dusty relocated to Austin to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren. His eldest, Paula Greenfield, was juggling a young family with her flourishing real estate business, The Greenfield Group. So in 2009, she invited Dusty to join her business as a partner. Ever since, they have been serving Austin’s homebuyers and sellers as a dynamic duo. They work with a diverse range of clients including families, professionals, entrepreneurs, seniors, and buyers relocating from out of town. He and Paula also specialize in helping sophisticated clients buy and sell higher-end luxury homes in exclusive neighborhoods.

Analytical with a sharp attention to detail, Dusty excels at the project management aspect of real estate. After 40 years of conceptualizing, organizing and budgeting many real estate projects, Dusty love to work closely with clients to define their goals and create a detailed plan to achieve them. “It is always my mission to have a crystal clear understanding of what my clients need. We research the market thoroughly, educate them about various neighborhoods, and examine their financial and lifestyle objectives,” Dusty says. “Then, we refine those goals so we can truly accomplish their dreams.”

Dusty’s experience as a property investor is the ultimate resource. “Most agents only focus on opening doors to houses that meet your lifestyle needs. We look closely at the home as an investment for the future, evaluating the appreciation of the property and the neighborhood so we can understand what it will yield in the coming years.” Early in his career, Dusty spent three years as a loan originator and account executive at a national bank, processing residential and investment loans. Now, this Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) guides his clients through the financing process so they can meet their financial goals for the long-term.

For home sellers, Dusty has the organization, communication and management skills to pro-actively manage over 70 variables that influence a home’s selling price. With Coldwell Banker United, Realtors®, Dusty walks his sellers through a pre-inspection and preparation process to ensure that home stands out among the competition. Using his construction knowledge, Dusty can analyze the pre-inspection report and advise home sellers on what needs to be done so they receive the highest return on their investment. All of Dusty’s clients benefit from his incredible team of ethical home inspectors, suppliers, repairmen and home stagers.

“We recently had a situation where we recommended several repairs to the Seller. The client replaced the poorly insulated windows, repainted, and had a stager rearrange the furniture to make the home more striking,” Dusty recalls. “Simply by putting out a `Coming Soon’ sign, we generated so much activity that the home was sold before it even hit the market at a much higher price than our client was ever expecting.”
