As a native Texan, Ivey has seen many changes over his hometown of Southlake since the late 1960's. He attended Carroll ISD from Kindergarten through his freshman year. He then transferred to LD Bell High School in Hurst his sophomore year, and graduated concentrating on Acting and Theatre.

Ivey began wood working when he was 12 years old, wood scrolling and wood crafting with a band saw and still enjoys it today as a home-based business under The Wood Wizard and Pixie Stop with his high school sweetheart and wife, Jessica. They have 5 children, all grown up and out on their own. Both he and Jessica attend Gateway Church.

Ivey also plays the 5-string bass guitar, 6-string acoustic guitar and sings 2^nd Tenor/Baritone beginning in his high school and college years and still enjoys singing and playing today. He is currently learning the chanter and the bagpipes while playing bass drum for the Fort Worth Scottish Pipe and Drum Band in Fort Worth.

Ivey received a BFA in Photography and Voice-Over Performance from UNT in Denton. After college, he was hired as a salesman at The Men's Wearhouse. Never having had retail experience, Ivey excelled and climbed through the ranks of consultant, assistant manager, operations manager and eventually store manager and was one of the top sellers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for 15 years. He credits his performance to George Zimmer, original Founder and CEO. Ivey said, “George personally taught me to ‘sell with soul’ and listen to the customers needs. You win customers for life, by disclosing information and giving them options.”

Since then, Ivey has worked for various places in sales but was never content. In the winter of 2020, he was encouraged to get into real estate. He received his Texas Real Estate license and partnered with Coldwell Banker Realty in Southlake. He looks forward to a prosperous and successful business relationship for many years to come.
