More about Fruwah Chapman
I am a realtor now, but I was a fashion designer in New York City. In NYC, I enjoyed the privilege of working with Icons like Diane Von Furstenberg, Rebecca Taylor, Nicole Miller and Donna Karen. I left my dream job in NYC to pursue an even bigger dream, becoming a mom. Married to a US Navy Captain, I go where he goes. After traveling the world, we settled in VA and are now parents to a 6 and 3 year old very, very handsome boys:-) Being a realtor allows me the flexibility to be present in their lives and also formulate a social life that includes meeting new people and building lasting relationships. My passion for fashion has now transitioned into a new passion for home staging and interior decorating. My friends call me Fashion Realtor. It pretty much is who I am. Growing up in a tiny 2 bedroom home in Santa, a small village in Cameroon, Central Africa wasn't ideal nor easy. My Grandma's priority was to feed, cloth and educate us. There were many of us sharing almost everything. It was tough, but looking back, those were the happiest times of my life. It shaped who I am and how I see and interact with people. It was in that home that I began playing with fabric in an effort to make my own clothes and be different. It was in that home that I began cutting magazines and making tiny decorations in an effort to add some color and interest to warm up the rooms. My grandma never discouraged me even when I cut up her expensive cloth without asking:-(
She had a way of making me feel special. When I meet people, I try to encourage and make them feel that way too. It is the greatest feeling in the world to me because it is associated with my Grandma, Sarah. It is because of her that I can shop at the Salvation army and look and feel like I shopped at Bergdorf Goodman. It is because of her that I can sleep comfortably in a mud hut in a village or in a 7 star hotel in Dubai and still wear a smile on my face. It is the energy of people that make experiences joyful, memorable and special not the places nor the things in them. The love and energy in our homes shape the future of our children and families. If I can help anyone find a home that will bring as much joy and happiness as I felt in Grandma Sarah's home, it will mean more to me than I can express. Happy hearts make Happy homes.
