Tom Franco

Tom brings a rare blend of coastal insight, refined service, and proven results to his clients throughout South Orange County. A Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker Realty in Dana Point and Broker/Owner of Franco Realty Group, Tom has built his career on relationships, local expertise, and the belief that real estate is ultimately about people, not just properties.

With more than two decades in the industry, Tom has consistently ranked in the top 6% of all Realtors in Orange County, completing over 150 sales and lease transactions and surpassing $225 million in total closings, including $50 million in the last three years alone. His experience spans traditional residential sales, coastal luxury properties, and residential and commercial investment opportunities throughout Southern California.

Tom’s real estate journey began in 2004 with Prudential in Laguna Niguel, followed by six successful years with First Team Estates in San Clemente. From 2011 to 2014, he helped launch the startup brokerage TopBroker Network, gaining a valuable perspective on innovation and evolving market dynamics. In addition, Tom opened his own brokerage, Franco Realty Group, in 2015 and honed his managerial and executive skills. Once Covid hit, Tom joined Harcourts Prime Properties in Monarch Beach, CA till the end of 2025. He is currently aligned with Coldwell Banker Realty in Dana Point, one of the most respected and globally recognized real estate brands, known for its leadership in luxury representation, market expertise, and client trust.

Tom’s knowledge of coastal Orange County runs deep. Having lived in Corona del Mar, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Capistrano Beach, Ladera Ranch, and San Clemente for 16 years, he offers clients a genuine, resident’s understanding of each community’s character, lifestyle, and value. Combined with time spent in both San Francisco and San Diego, this perspective allows Tom to guide clients with clarity, confidence, and strategic insight.

Before real estate, Tom spent nearly twenty years in the fine-dining industry as an owner-operator, developing and managing acclaimed restaurants across Colorado, North Carolina, Virginia, and California. He held leadership roles with the Patina Restaurant Group and Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants in San Francisco. It was during this chapter that Tom refined his philosophy of high-touch service—anticipating needs, solving problems, and delivering a seamless experience. That mindset continues to define his approach to real estate today, having served more than 300 families with their real estate goals.

A graduate of The College of William & Mary, Class of ’81, Tom was named Male Student-Athlete of the Year and served as co-captain of the football team—early reflections of the discipline, leadership, and teamwork that continue to guide him. 

After college, Tom embarked on a cycling tour that took him halfway around the world, where he met over 40 families while traveling through 14 countries and cycling over 11,000 miles. 

Outside of work, Tom embraces the coastal lifestyle he represents. Most mornings begin with cycling or running, often followed by a refreshing swim in the ocean. He and his wife, Patricia, have proudly called San Clemente home for 16 years, where they raised their four children and remain deeply connected to the community.

Tom lives by three simple principles: work hard, be kind to everyone, and always put the client’s wishes first. It’s this grounded philosophy—paired with his vast experience, endless energy, and a solutions-driven mindset—that continues to earn the trust of clients throughout South Orange County’s coastal luxury market.
