At Christmastime, guests found the doors of their rooms decked in handcrafted holly wreaths made of garland from trees that lined the hotel orchards. Tiedemann eventually had a few of those holly trees replanted outside his own family home on Ocean Avenue in Oak Grove, and they still thrive in the vibrant yard of this supremely special and beloved residence with deep connections to the history of the entire area.
