It is refreshing to see a renovation that preserves the integrity of a space while making it just that much better. So is the case at 3 Arlington St. #25. Drawn to the "old world" elegance & charm of Oxford Courts (built in Porter Sq. in the '30s), she also preferred a more open plan found in modern buildings. So, soon after she purchased in 2011, she opened up the unit & replaced the kitchen with one that is pretty & has room to work in. The result is a space that is both comfortable & elegant and which retains many of the iconic details of the building but also offers better connections & functionality. And speaking of connections, the convivial community at Oxford Courts has been family to her and the opportunity to live in the heart of Porter Sq. with its many shops & restaurants, access to the Red Line/Commuter Rail and the Avon Hill neighborhood has been a gift. It is her hope that the next lucky person to own unit 25 will enjoy the space and the location just as much as she has.
