Cindy became a Realtor over 30 years ago after discovering she had a real knack for matchmaking clients with homes, decorating/organizing, problem solving and some armchair counseling to boot! In those 30+ years, Cindy has seen it all. From sky-high interest rates (15-17%) and large down payments (10% +) when she was newly licensed (and do not think that was not a challenge!) to a 180-degree swing in the opposite direction to zero down with qualifications so lax that if you were breathing you were qualified. Or maybe you wanted to buy 2 homes and rent one out. You did not need a crystal ball to figure out that the country was ultimately going to find itself with a MESS, with years of short sales and foreclosures (and those rare, run-of-the-mill sales) being the only business taking place. There is something to be said for moderation. It is a good thing for everyone’s sake.

Cindy grew up in Coon Rapids and Anoka and married John Lemm in 1981. They started out in a little rambler near downtown Monticello, then built a home on 7 acres on the Mississippi east of Monticello. She served on the Monticello Planning Commission for 7 years and was involved in the Monticello Chamber of Commerce. They then moved to Big Lake where Cindy has been an active member on the Big Lake Chamber, was one of the original board members that established the Big Lake Youth Football League in Big Lake, involved in their church and donated time to the Big Lake Food Shelf among other things. Cindy and John have 2 adult sons, Andy and Tom. Tom has a daughter, Emery and Andy and his wife, Jackie are expecting a girl in the fall of 2022.

Truthfully, Cindy spends a LOT of time on her career in real estate and with her new interest in aging gracefully and the myriad of twists and turns that can bring. She is certified as a SRES, a Seniors Real Estate Specialist. She is trying to show friends, family and clients all the benefits that are available to them and help seniors know that there are options available to stay in their homes for as long as possible. (It is NOT always about buying and selling homes, but more about establishing trusted relationships and helping others.) The business will follow. When Cindy is not doing real estate, she might be engrossed in a great story like Ozark, Breaking Bad or Billions (who doesn’t love a great villain?) She also enjoys reading crime novels, spending time at their Leech Lake cabin listening to 90’s grunge music or baking cookies. Kind of an enigma...
