There is no one profile for the successful real estate agent. Top agents, even in the same company, can be as different as day and night. Some are laid-back and quiet, others are energetic and boisterous. They may dress differently, from casual to business-like. Although it was always thought a successful salesperson should drive an immaculate four-door car, he or she may very well sit behind the wheel of a battered sport model, with multiple listing printouts piled high on the passenger seat and lollipop wrappers on the back floor. You need to be a self-starter. You receive directions, training and guidance from your supervising broker, but in the end, you're working for and largely by yourself. You set your own hours, choose your own goals, and pick your own tasks. In order to achieve success, you must enjoy what you're doing.
