More about Jaclyn DiPeri

Why did you choose a career in real estate?

I come from a family of noteworthy custom homebuilders and realtors in the Bergen County area. Knowledge of real estate (and maybe some saw dust) is in my blood and therefore I have always had a passion and appreciation for it. I grew up on my father’s construction sites and I’m pretty sure I was the youngest girl to ever operate a jackhammer!

How are your degrees relative in the real estate business?

I graduated from SUNY Albany with a degree in communications and minors in business and psychology. You would think that business would apply the most to my work but my experience in communications and psychology have helped me much more. Being able to communicate effectively is key in this business. I find that it’s not only important to be able to communicate with my buyers and sellers but with other agents, attorneys, banks, inspectors, etc. A lot can be lost in translation when there are so many players involved and I feel as though keeping everyone updated and on the same page is something I do very well. As for psychology; buying and selling real estate can be a very emotional process, being able to understand that aspect and relate to my clients has helped me immensely.

Do you feel that your age affects you in this business?

Some view my age as a disadvantage when it comes to real estate. However, I can tell you many reasons otherwise. A big advantage of being young in this industry has to do with technology. When about 90% of homebuyers start their search online, it’s important to stay ahead of the game and have the ability to navigate and adapt to the rapidly changing technology, websites, apps, etc. Additionally, I'm young and full of energy! My work is my life right now and I don't have a spouse or children that have to come first, yet!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Well, I’ve lived in Oakland my whole life and I’ve always loved this area. I try and hike with my two dogs almost every day. I’m also an avid snowboarder. Hunter Mountain in the Catskills has always been a second home to me, which is where I learned to ski when I was two years old and eventually learned to snowboard.

Why Coldwell Banker?

I've worked at two other real estate brokerages in the area before I landed at Coldwell Banker and no other company's technology or values compare. Coldwell Banker offers so many tools to me as an agent and even more to my clients, which makes transactions, run smooth. Also, I appreciate that Coldwell Banker is such a dominant player on the internet which allows more exposure for my listings and makes it easy to connect the buyers to my sellers.
