More about Shannon Diiorio

I wasn’t always in real estate.. I started working in restaurants as a teen and then being on my own immediately after high school graduation; I began attending community college while advancing into Restaurant Management. By the time I was 20, I was the General Restaurant Manager of a Pizza Hut and eventually earned an Associate Degree in Business Management. I soon married my husband, a member of the armed forces and moved out of state. We had our first child together and I worked different jobs to help make ends meet. My husband unfortunately injured his back after just a couple of years and ended his military career. When we moved back to PA I was fortunate enough to be able to go back to my Restaurant Management position and we were able to purchase our first home.
As our daughter was approaching school age, I knew I didn’t want to continue being away from home 50-60 hours per week, mostly nights and weekends. Family time was my number 1 priority and my husband and I were working opposite shifts and I was missing out on family time, time at HOME. So real estate was an easy decision for me, not only could I make my own hours, work from home and take my daughter along on appointments but I could help others find their own perfect HOME! Having the encouragement of a family member in the business helped as well!
So in 2003 I embarked on this Real Estate journey. Many people don’t realize that Real Estate doesn’t exactly result in an immediate or regular pay check. So I transitioned gradually, keeping a restaurant position part time for a while. I was never Rookie of the Year, but I managed to steadily and gradually grow my business until I was far too busy to continue working my night job! Recognizing the importance of furthering my education, I began taking specialized Real Estate courses as often as I could, earning designations and then ultimately attended broker courses in law, finance and investment. Another daughter, several rescue dogs and two broker licenses later (Pennsylvania and Delaware, ) I’m enjoying every day that I get to help others with a major life event. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help clients get through the process and on to their next chapter. I'm also enjoying a unique opportunity to help others transition into this rewarding career. Assisting as an office coach with Coldwell Banker Preferred is enabling me to help others achieve the success that I have achieved professionally, while maintaining a family balance. Coldwell Banker Preferred has provided me with the mentoring, tools and resources necessary find that success and I'm thrilled at the opportunity to pass that on.
Having grown up in Eddystone and graduating from Ridley High School as well as Delaware County Community College, it was an obvious decision to work in the great Delco area. However the versatility and ease of mobility across county and even state lines here in the Philadelphia suburbs, it was also a natural progression to include parts of Chester, Montgomery & New Castle counties. Helping clients and fellow agents understand the market throughout these areas is one of my specialties.
Whether you are looking to purchase a property, sell a property, or transition into a real estate career, I will guide you through this process with patience, persistence, knowledge, experience , trustworthiness and dedication. Aside from my children, what I am most proud of is that over the last 15 years of my career, clients have referred me to their children, parents & other family members or close friends, which is absolutely the biggest compliment & testimonial that I can possibly receive. I’m incredibly thankful to have earned such trust and confidence from the people I’ve had the pleasure of working with and will continue to work with!
I've been lucky enough to have had such amazing mentors throughout my career that I've been inspired to run for the board of directors for Suburban West REALTORS Association, which I now serve as Chairman Elect, become a real estate instructor and serve on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS.
