My name is Margie DeJesus and I’m a real estate professional with Coldwell Banker in Berks County, Pennsylvania.  But my story begins far away when I was born in Guayaquil-Ecuador…

I moved to Berks County sixteen years ago when I got married, full of hopes and dreams for our new life. Well, when we purchased our first home three months later something unexpected happened; it was a terrible experience!  We didn’t receive any guidance, our agent never recommended for us to get a home inspection or explained anything about the process.  I became determined to make a difference in the real estate world, so I decided to get my agent’s license to be able to help people to achieve the American dream and become a homeowner.  So many immigrants (and others) have to fight through a language barrier and even endure poor or inefficient service… it’s my mission to help change that!

A few years later I decided to learn more about this incredible world of Real Estate and financial lending to be able to guide my clients better.  As a result, I moved into the loans/lending world myself and worked for five years at the Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks -  a nonprofit  whose mission is to facilitate and provide ‘affordable housing’ programs and initiatives that will expand home ownership opportunities for all people of Berks County, especially low to moderate income families, and will contribute to the revitalization of our neighborhoods and the greater community.

I learned Credit Counseling.  I understand the difficulty in establishing credit and how to fix it to be able to purchase a home. With my Loan Officer License, I have knowledge about the special programs for first time home buyers.

So here I am…. I’m been happily married for 16 years and I have two amazing daughters, Isabela 10 and Giovanna 2.  I always try to teach my children to give back to the community and help others. I love volunteering with first-time homebuyer classes to try to educate the community about the buying process and I teach my children that knowledge is power and you can use this power to help yourself and help others.

So, for me the most rewarding part of my work as Realtor/Loan officer is meeting amazing people, and seeing happiness and gratitude after they become a homeowner.  Let me help you find YOUR dream home in Berks County!
