When I was 19 years old, I had the opportunity to purchase a condo in downtown Kirkland for $100,000. I immediately said no. Truth be told, I likely could have afforded it and the payments likely would have only been a little bit more than my monthly rent at the time. Even if the payments would have been a little bit of a stretch, I would have been investing in my future, paying toward the equity, rather than paying someone else’s rent.
