Douglas is a recent transplant to Colorado Springs from the Florida Keys and is extremely happy to call Colorado home. After finishing a career in the US Army as both an Enlisted Soldier and Commissioned Officer, Douglas opened successful Marriage and Family Therapy practices in Brentwood, TN and Huntsville, AL. It was during this period of helping Service Members, First Responders, and all exposed to trauma heal from their experiences, he realized that we are all simply trying to find our way home: the place of safety, security, love, and affirmation. After a few years living in the Keys working as a SCUBA Instructor and licensed boat captain, Douglas realized he was still not home.
It was this search for home that connected Douglas with real estate professional Mason Buck. Not only did Mason help Douglas find his perfect home, he recognized something in Douglas and approached him about becoming a real estate professional and joining him in helping others find their way home. And this is exactly what Douglas did and what he does every day: help others find their way home.
Douglas is able to leverage his background, and especially his experience as a therapist, to help the homebuying process be as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. He is passionate about helping others find their perfect home just as he found his perfect home. This is what motivates Douglas as he helps his clients find that place where they can be the very best version of themselves and live their very best lives.
In his free time, Douglas likes to hang out with Magnus, his awesome German Shepherd Dog puppy. If he is not showing properties, he can be found offroading in his Jeep, hiking, camping, rock climbing, kayaking, paddleboarding, SCUBA diving, traveling, and just about anything else that Colorado has to offer. He recently took up fly fishing and is always ready to go axe throwing. He has climbed a few 14ers and has a goal of climbing two per month.
