Replica Home in Ocean City Hits the Market for $1.299 Million

The home is a replica of the historic Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum

OCEAN CITY, MD (March 26, 2018) – A replica home modeled after the historic Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum has just listed for $1,299,900. The landmark property is a two-story waterfront home, located at 165 Old Wharf Road. Represented by Nancy Reither-Smith, an affiliated sales associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Ocean City/120th St office, the home offers five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

The original Ocean City Life-Saving Station was built in 1891 and was designed by J.L. Parkinson. The station was part of a coastal system dedicated to saving vessels in distress. In 1915, the station merged with the Revenue Cutter Service to form the U.S. Coast Guard, which operated from the building until 1964. As it stands today, the Ocean City Life-Saving Station has been preserved and is open for tours.

The replica house was designed and built by the respected David Bradley of Bradley Construction. Bradley’s architectural vision is evident in elegant details of the design, including the white siding and gable of the home. While the home’s design pays homage to a historical landmark, it incorporates modern luxury by providing style and comfort.

The first floor of the home includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a great room, gourmet kitchen, dining room, sun room and laundry room. On the second floor, the additional bedrooms feature fireplaces and a walkout deck with a stunning bay view. The home offers 171 feet of water frontage to easily accommodate numerous boats.

Additional and custom features include:

  • Cathedral ceilings
  • Spacious yard and private courtyard
  • 50-foot “T” pier
  • Maintenance-free red roof

QUOTE:

“This masterpiece of a home gracefully honors the original Life Saving Station which is such an important landmark in Ocean City. The home itself offers an incredible bay view and generous water access for avid boaters.”
