RYAN MURPHY AWARDED COLDWELL BANKER RESIDENTIAL BROKERAGE SCHOLARSHIP
MAHWAH, N.J. – (Aug. 17, 2017) – Ryan Murphy, a Mahwah resident and 2017 graduate of Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, is the 2017 recipient of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Scholarship. Murphy was selected based on his academic history and potential, an essay and recommendations. He will receive a total of $4,000 toward his higher education at the University of Chicago starting this fall semester.
Murphy plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree, studying mathematics and science. During his high school career, Murphy earned straight A’s and a 4.0 GPA while taking the maximum number of elective courses and a large selection of AP classes.
“Ryan is persuasive, considerate, and hard-working, all of the key features of strong leaders…” said Bergen County Academies Lead Counselor Kenneth Zurich. Murphy led his Boy Scout Troop as Senior Patrol Leader as well as the school’s Philosophy Club and Quizbowl team, among other leadership roles. “Ryan’s character is marked by strong individualism, combined with kindness… (He) has always been willing to lend a helping hand and a smile to our school community.”
Murphy’s mother is Susan Steinberg, a real estate agent affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Ramsey/Upper Saddle River office and the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Hudson Valley Regional Sales Center Office in New City, N.Y. Presented annually for more than 20 years, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage scholarship is available to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of affiliated sales associates or employees of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y.
