Realtor® and Weston City Commissioner Jim Norton sets his sights on Broward County Commission - Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Sales Associate Balances Real Estate Career with Public Office

WESTON (June 7, 2016)—Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate’s Jim Norton has announced his plans to campaign for Broward County Commission. Currently serving as a Commissioner for the City of Weston, Norton brings to the campaign a well-rounded background in marketing, business management, local market knowledge, and municipal experience.

A resident of Weston for over 20 years, Norton began his career in public service in 2010 and his work in real estate in 2015. Norton attributes his quick success in real estate to an extensive network of contacts throughout the region and his vast knowledge of work and life in Broward County.

Balancing two demanding careers requires exceptional time management and organizational skills, which Norton says are key to remaining successful.

“It comes down to the two T’s: technology and team. I couldn’t balance it all without my team helping to prioritize the workload between real estate and county initiatives,” said Norton. “There are a lot of goals I want to reach to keep Broward County moving forward, and having the best possible team and the most efficient processes behind us is key.”

Norton applies the same goal to his two careers: Protect the value of an individual’s most valuable asset. Weston benefits from one of the lowest tax rates in the nation, even as home values in the area continue to rise. Norton would like to extend the same benefits to Broward County as a whole to improve the quality of life for its residents. For his advocacy on behalf of homeowners and city initiatives, Norton was awarded the Home Rule Champion Award by the Florida League of Cities earlier this year.

“Increasing property values are extremely important for maintaining strong economic conditions, and as a commissioner, I will explore public policy that would make Broward County friendlier to homeowners and businesses,” said Norton.

Norton and his wife, Candy, work as a team with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. They focus their buying and selling efforts primarily in Weston where their expertise lies.
